The Home Run Derby hasn’t started yet, but it’s already Sho-Time.
Angels designated hitter/starting pitcher Shohei Ohtani blasted a shot during batting practice on Monday that reached Coors Field’s party deck and elicited plenty of oohs and aahs from the fans in attendance.
Ohtani, who leads the majors with 33 home runs, is one of the favorites to win the competition. DraftKings Sportsbook has him at +400 odds, the best among the eight competitors, to win it all.
