Growing up in an athletic family, her father, Terry, was a Super Bowl Champion with the Oakland Raiders in 1976, so Kunz naturally fell in love with sports. At Texas A&M, Kunz competed in both soccer and track and field in hurdles, high jump and triple jump. At the Olympic Trials, Kunz topped some of the best heptathlon athletes after scoring four personal bests out of the seven to qualify. The Wheat Ridge native is heading into her first Olympics with the highest heptathlon score in the world.
