Raboutou made history as the . Along with fellow Coloradan Colin Duffy, Raboutou is heading to her first Olympics in the sportap debut in Tokyo. She started climbing at the age of 1, and by 9 she was setting records — becoming the youngest female to climb a 5.13b on the YDS scale of difficulty. At 11, she was the youngest female to climb a 5.14b. Raboutou comes from a family of climbers. Her father, Didier, is a three-time World Cup Champion and her mother, Robyn, is a four-time World Cup Champion and five-time national champion. Leading up to Tokyo, Raboutou finished in the top 3 in her last three competitions. Twice, she finished third in bouldering competitions in Salt Lake City before reaching her first-ever final in the only lead climbing competition of the year in Innsbruck, Austria.
