Interstate 70 westbound was closed just before Quebec Street in Denver for an hour Friday morning.
A two-vehicle crash with serious injuries was the cause of the closure and is backing up traffic, according to Denver police.
The Colorado Department of Transportation first reported the crash around 8:30 a.m. Friday. CDOT reopened a lane around 9:30 a.m. but the full reopen of the highway has no timetable.
The best detour is to exit I-70 at Interstate 270 and then head down Interstate 25 south until rejoining I-70 west.
UPDATE (9:03 a.m.): Expect delays on westbound I-70 near Quebec Street due to a crash. Traffic is being detoured through Quebec Street.
