1. Valor Christian (6-0) won vs. Mountain Vista, 49-6. The Eagles exploded for 21 points in the second quarter in a dominating performance from start to finish. Next week: at Castle View, 6 p.m. Oct. 8
2. Cherry Creek (5-1) won at No. 8 Cherokee Trail, 41-10. The Bruins trailed in the first quarter and led by only 3 points at halftime. But Cherry Creek scored four touchdowns in the second half to run away with the game. Next week: vs. No. 5 Grandview, 7 p.m. Oct. 8
3. Columbine (4-2) lost at Arvada West, 24-21. A touchdown pass in the waning moments vaulted A-West to a stunning upset of the Rebels. The Wildcats rallied from an 11-point halftime deficit, holding Columbine scoreless over the last two quarters. Next week: vs. Lakewood, 7:30 p.m. Oct. 7
4. Ralston Valley (6-0) won at Mullen, 40-14. Mustangs senior quarterback Zach Friedman completed three touchdown passes. Next week: vs. Pomona, 7 p.m. Oct. 7
5. Grandview (5-1) won vs. Smoky Hill, 23-6. After giving up a first-quarter touchdown, the Wolves’ defense shut out Smoky Hill the rest of the way as Grandview finished the game with 17 unanswered points. Next week: at No. 2 Cherry Creek, 7 p.m. Oct. 8
6. Regis Jesuit (4-2) won vs. Chaparral, 56-14. Junior D’Andre Barnes rushed for a 64-yard touchdown in the third quarter as the Raiders scored 42 unanswered points after halftime. Next week: at No. 7 Legend, 1 p.m. Oct. 9
7. Legend (5-1) won vs. 4A No. 2 Pine Creek, 26-23. Titans senior running back Bryce Vaz ran for two touchdowns on the night — including a 59-yard scamper into the end zone. Next week: vs. No. 6 Regis Jesuit, 1 p.m. Oct. 9
8. Cherokee Trail (4-2) lost vs. No. 2 Cherry Creek, 41-10. The Cougars led late in the first quarter when senior running back Ciaran Hyslop rushed for a touchdown. But Cherokee Trail did not score again with the Bruins dominating the final three quarters. Next week: at No. 9 Arapahoe, 7 p.m. Oct. 7
9. Arapahoe (5-1) won vs. Eaglecrest, 35-14. The Warriors scored the game’s first four touchdowns to take a 28-0 in the third quarter and cruised from there for their first win over Eaglecrest in at least 18 years. Next week: vs. No. 8 Cherokee Trail, 7 p.m. Oct. 7
10. Douglas County (6-0) won vs. Doherty, 26-8. The Huskies continued their unbeaten start to the season with a 19-0 second half that included the second of two touchdowns from Jake Stonebraker. Next week: at 4A No. 2 Pine Creek, 6 p.m. Oct. 9
Class 4A
1. Palmer Ridge (5-1) lost vs. No. 4 Montrose, 28-21. The Bears led 21-14 in the first half with touchdown receptions from Anthony Costanzo and Ayden Snow. But Palmer Ridge was unable to hold its lead in an upset loss. Next week: at No. 8 Ponderosa, 7 p.m. Oct. 8
2. Pine Creek (5-1) lost at 5A No. 7 Legend, 26-23. The Eagles trailed by 3 in the fourth quarter after a rushing score from senior Josiah Roy. But Pine Creek was unable to topple its big-school competition. Next week: vs. 5A No. 10 Douglas County, 6 p.m. Oct. 9
3. Dakota Ridge (6-0) won vs. Bear Creek, 52-13. The Eagles opened up a 31-0 lead in the second quarter and never looked back. Next week: at Standley Lake, 4 p.m. Oct. 8
4. Montrose (6-0) won at No. 1 Palmer Ridge, 28-21. Montrose held Palmer Ridge without points in the second half and scored two unanswered touchdowns. Senior cornerback Hunter Duke hauled in a pair of interceptions.岹. Next week: vs. Heritage, 6 p.m. Oct. 8
5. Erie (6-0) won vs. Silver Creek, 51-21. The Tigers cruised in another blowout win. Next week: at Brighton, 7 p.m. Oct. 8

7. Chatfield (5-1) won vs. Wheat Ridge, 56-14. Jake Marschall ran in two TDs, Campbell Packebush returned an interception for a score and Anthony Adams scored from seven yards out to give the Chargers a 35-14 halftime lead that was never challenged. Next week: vs, Bear Creek, 4 p.m. Oct. 7
8. Ponderosa (5-1) won at Air Academy, 60-7. Mustangs senior running back Zachary Pekarek carried the football 12 times for 119 yards and two touchdowns. Next week: vs. Palmer Ridge, 7 p.m. Oct. 8
