An 81-year-old Jefferson County jail inmate died Wednesday at St. Anthony Hospital in Lakewood.
Alford Wayne Pittman was booked into the jail on April 5 after pleading guilty to sexual assault on a child, according to a sheriff’s office news release.
He was sentenced May 21 to serve one year in jail.
Pittman was taken to the hospital Monday for required surgery and postoperative care, the release said. While at the hospital he died under a doctor’s care.
