No. 13 Mullen beat No. 20 Douglas County, 34-7. Kaleb Valdez-Lemos and Kyle Krebs both had two rushing TDs and Michael Brouillette broke things open with a 78-yard kick return to start the second half as the Mustangs (4-7) claimed their first playoff win since 2016. No. 12 Cherokee Trail beat No. 21 Fossil Ridge, 41-29. QB Logan Brooke had three touchdown passes in the first half, including a pair to Jack Pierce, as the Cougars (7-4) took a 20-0 lead into halftime. . The Panthers (7-4) overcame a 7-0 halftime deficit to advance, as Dominick Nichols gave Pomona the lead for good with a 38-yard touchdown run with less than three minutes to go. Croix Burney and Deandre Horn scored two touchdowns apiece in the second half and Breck Saenger drilled a field goal with seconds remaining as the Jaguars (5-6) survived career nights from QB Tyliq Bowers (6 TD passes) and WR Anthony Harris Jr.’s (4 TD receptions) for the Buffaloes (5-6) to advance.
