The Colorado Avalanche injury carousel just keeps spinning.

Second-line center Nazem Kadri is considered “day-to-day” with a lower-body injury, coach Jared Bednar confirmed Friday, and Kadri will miss Friday night’s home game against the Detroit Red Wings. The issue is unrelated to another injury he suffered earlier this month, Bednar said. Kadri has 34 points (11 goals) over 22 games played.

But help is on the way.

Injured forward J.T. Compher (upper-body) will return to the lineup against Detroit after missing the past 11 games. Compher tallied nine points (five goals) prior to his injury.

“I’m just excited to get back in and get to work,” Compher said. “We’re finding ways to win games. … Nate (Mackinnon) goes out and then (Kadri) goes out. Guys are stepping up all over the lineup, which is huge. Obviously, we want to tighten it up a little bit, and thatap probably the main focus going forward.”
