Avalanche game at Nashville still scheduled, despite Predators’ COVID outbreak

The Nashville players who aren’t expected to play Thursday because of COVID are forwards Mikael Granlund, Ryan Johansen, Matt Luff, Michael McCarron, Philip Tomasino, and defenseman Ben Harpur.

The Nashville Predators, who are scheduled to host the Avalanche on Thursday, announced Wednesday they have six players and four coaches on the NHL’s COVID-19 protocol list.

Thursday’s game is still scheduled to take place at Bridgestone Arena. and four games have been postponed since Monday, including three involving the Calgary Flames.

The Avs also have a player on the COVID list, defenseman Devon Toews, who was added Tuesday before Colorado’s 4-2 win over the visiting New York Rangers. Toews, who is symptomatic, isn’t expected to return to the lineup until after Christmas.

The Nashville players who aren’t expected to play Thursday because of COVID are forwards Mikael Granlund, Ryan Johansen, Matt Luff, Michael McCarron, Philip Tomasino and defenseman Ben Harpur. Head coach John Hynes and three assistants are also on the list, plus two staff members.
