Fireworks will illuminate the Denver sky on Dec. 31 as the city resumes large-scale New Year’s Eve celebrations.

The annual show, which took a hiatus in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, returns to enthrall crowds at the 16th Street Mall downtown, where DJs will be set up along the pedestrian corridor to add a soundtrack to the display, according to an announcement Wednesday. The city will light off fireworks twice – at 9 p.m. and midnight – and live music will fill the gap between the two shows.
