Getting your player ready...

The early signing period for the 2022 class of college football recruits began Wednesday, with several players in Colorado making official pledges.

In a late development, the CU Buffs scored a rare in-state recruiting win with Fairview High School’s Grant Page opting to sign on the dotted line with his hometown school.

The three-star wide receiver is the first prospect from the Boulder prep power to sign with CU since 2002, . The , Page is also the second top-five Colorado recruit to commit to the Buffs in the past two years. Heritage tight end Erik Olsen, ranked No. 4 in 2020, signed with CU last December. Prior to that, the Buffs had gone two consecutive years without signing a top-five in-state talent.

Unfortunately, that was one of only a few in-state recruiting wins for CU, with Cherokee Trail offensive lineman Travis Gray the only other top-10 Colorado prep to join the Buffs.

Both of the state’s four-star recruits are headed elsewhere: Valor Christian running back Gavin Sawchuk signed his letter of intent to play for Oklahoma, while Cherry Creek offensive lineman George Fitzpatrick is headed to Ohio State and the Big Ten.

This marked the fifth straight year that the top-ranked recruit on the 247Sports composite rankings declined to sign with one of the in-state programs. The last to do so was Pomona’s Jake Moretti in 2017.

New CSU Rams head coach Jay Norvell added two in-state players to his roster (both outside the top 10), and a Class of 2021 Colorado prep (Grandview OL Trevyn Heil) who redshirted a year at Nevada before returning to his home state. Northern Colorado reeled in four Colorado preps and a CSU transfer (Kyle Helbig, CSU).

Here’s a list of Colorado preps who signed letters of intent to play for FBS or FCS programs on Wednesday, as well as those who have announced commitments to the Air Force Academy:
