Denver may near record-high temperatures this week as the mercury rises into the 60s.

According to the National Weather Service in Boulder, Denver will begin the week sunny and with a high of 61 degrees. Temperatures will dip to 32 degrees overnight.

The low humidity and warm temperatures make for areas of elevated fire danger across the region. Gusty winds over 50 mph could move in over the hills Monday night.

Tuesday should be much of the same, with a high of 61 under the sun. Winds could increase to gusts of 21 mph with a low that dips to 31 degrees.

The high again on Wednesday is 62 degrees with sunny skies. Winds could gust to 17 mph.

Friday should be the first change of the weather pattern as a chance of precipitation builds after noon. Christmas Eve snow is possible, though it’s unclear if much will stick.
