The most sought-after high school basketball recruit in Colorado has been dismissed from his team.
Baye Fall, , is no longer with Denver Prep Academy for violations of team rules, the school confirmed Tuesday.
“Junior Center Baye Fall has been dismissed from the Denver Prep Academy national elite basketball team for conduct of concern and violations of team rules,” DPA said in a statement provided to The Denver Post. “At DPA, we pride ourselves on providing students and athletes a positive, structured environment designed to promote personal development. We talk about it all the time. A basketball team is more than just a team. Itap a family and an organization, and each and every member is expected to uphold certain standards and expectations. When you don’t hold yourself to those standards and expectations, you no longer have a place on this team. We’re going to operate at a high level here on and off the court, regardless of wins and losses.
“Baye is an extremely talented player and we wish him all the best for his future playing career.”
Fall, a Senegal native, rose to prominence at Lutheran (3A) and led the Lions to a 2021 state championship. Last fall, he transferred to DPA — a newly established basketball prep school — and played in 10 games as part of the Grind Session league. Fall averaged 14.3 points, 7.1 rebounds and 1.6 blocks. He has scholarship offers from schools such as Auburn, Baylor, Illinois, Kansas and USC. It is unclear where Fall will finish out his junior and senior seasons.
DPA has nine players currently enrolled in its program. Junior forward Assane Diop is with scholarship offers from Arkansas, Kentucky, Maryland, Texas A&M and others.
DPA is hosting a Grind Session event on Friday and Saturday at Aurora Central High School called the Gary Rhoades Classic — named after the former Denver West and CSU basketball star. The event will showcase games played between 10 teams from across the country. Tickets are available on .
On Friday night, DPA will face Donda Academy, a first-year basketball prep school founded by Kanye West. Donda features point guard Robert Dillingham — a five-star prospect committed to North Carolina State.
“It’s a pretty prestigious thing to be able to host games,” DPA head coach Ray Valdez said. “A chance to be held in that regard is exciting. To be able to bring the notoriety and visibility of the Donda school, everything lined up really well. It’s the fruition of all of our hard work and the integrity that we’ve approached things with.”
