A man was shot dead in southeast Denver on Friday night, and a homicide investigation is underway.

The shooting victim was taken to a hospital from the 10100 block of East Virginia Avenue, police said on Twitter at 11:38 p.m. Friday.
On Saturday morning police announced that the man had died.
