The NCAA’s top scorer just got one step closer to being crowned its top hockey player.

Denver Pioneers forward Bobby Brink on Thursday was named one of the three Hobey Baker Award hat trick finalists along with Minnesota State senior goaltender Dryden McKay and Minnesota junior forward Ben Meyers.

The winner will be announced at 4 p.m. MT on April 8 on the NHL Network.

The junior right wing leads the country with 56 points, 42 assists and a 1.44 points-per-game average. He helped lead the Pioneers to their 18th Frozen Four in school history and first since 2019. DU takes on Michigan in the semifinals on April 7.

Brink, 20, is the first Pioneers player to reach the Hobey Baker hat trick since center Henrik Borgstrom in 2018. Two Denver players have won the award: Defensemen Matt Carle (2006) and Will Butcher (2017).
