A 60-year-old inmate who “walked away” from a minimum security prison “satellite camp” was found Tuesday in Grand Junction and taken into custody.

Frank Elliott was discovered to be missing Sunday morning from the Federal Correctional Institution Englewood, 9595 W. Quincy Ave., when staff conducted a prisoner count, according to a U.S. Marshal Service news release. Elliott is serving a sentence for a federal drug conviction out of South Dakota.

He was apprehended at about 11:30 a.m. Tuesday without further incident by the U.S. Marshal Service. Elliott was found in a park near a bus station by deputy marshals and Colorado Bureau of Investigation agents. An investigation is ongoing.
