Because of two trades Friday night, the Broncos have eight picks on Saturday in rounds 4-7 of the NFL draft.
Round 4: Nos. 115-116.
Round 5: Nos. 152, 162 and 179.
Round 6: No. 206.
Round 7: Nos. 232 and 234.
“I think (Saturday) is going to be fun,” general manager George Paton said late Friday night.
Here are some players at positions of need the Broncos could consider:
OT Daniel Faalele, Minnesota: The Broncos should be on the lookout for right tackle competition for this year and eventually a starter in 2023. Faalele checked into the combine at 6-foot-8 and 390 pounds so his size may not be the best fit for coach Nathaniel Hackettap run scheme that requires linemen to be on the move. Faalele started 31 games at right tackle for the Gophers.
OT Braxton Jones, Southern Utah: The 6-foot-5, 310-pound Jones started 29 games at left tackle and was a two-time first-team FCS All-American. He received a late offer to walk on at Utah, but opted to accept a scholarship offer from Southern Utah.
OT Kellen Diesch, Arizona State: Listed at 6-foot-7 and 303 pounds, Diesch couldn’t get on the field during four years at Texas A&M (no starts), but transferred to Arizona State and started all 17 of his games over two years at left tackle. He was second-team All-Pac-12 last year.
CB Coby Bryant, Cincinnati: Listed at 6-foot-1 and 193 pounds, Bryant ran the 40-yard dash in 4.47 seconds at the combine. In a whopping 63 games over five years for the Bearcats, Bryant had 10 interceptions and 45 pass break-ups.
CB Zyon McCollum, Sam Houston State: McCollum, 6-foot-2/199 pounds, ran the 40 in 4.33 seconds at the combine. At the FCS program he started 52 of his 56 games and totaled 205 tackles, 54 pass break-ups and 13 interceptions.
WR/KR/PR Kyle Philips, UCLA: Philips returned punts at some point of all four of his college seasons and averaged 19.3 yards per punt return in his career and scored two touchdowns.
