Denver weather: Warm weather Friday to lead into fire weather watch Saturday

Friday’s high of 83 degrees are forecast to come with winds reaching 7 to 13 mph, gusting as high as 21 mph

Temperatures expected to reach into the 80s under partly sunny skies on Friday, the National Weather Service said.

Friday’s high of 83 degrees are forecast to come with winds reaching 7 to 13 mph, gusting as high as 21 mph. Tonight’s weather is expected to drop down to 56 degrees, the weather service said.

A trend of warming and drying weather will continue into the weekend, with the National Weather Service citing concerns for fire weather conditions.

Saturday is expected to reach a high of 87 degrees, with 7 to 12 mph winds jumping to 15 to 20 mph in the afternoon with up to 31 mph gusts. The weather service has issued a fire weather watch from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday for all of the Denver area, the eastern plains and the southern foothills.

A very slight chance of rain and thunderstorms could come on Sunday afternoon, with a high of 80 degrees and 6 to 16 mph winds.

Next week is forecast to be warm and sunny with mostly clear skies.
