Sunny, warm weather is expected in Denver on Thursday, reaching a high of 82 degrees with winds between 5 and 9 mph, the National Weather Service said.

Friday is expected to heat up to 89 degrees, with a chance of thunderstorms coming in the afternoon. Winds are forecast to reach between 6 and 9 mph, gusting as high as 15 mph.

High temperatures under sunny skies are expected to continue through the holiday weekend, reaching highs of 88 degrees on Saturday, 83 on Sunday and 79 on Monday.

Winds are forecast to pick up on Monday, with a chance of thunderstorms starting in the afternoon and continuing through the much of next week.
