A man was shot in an apartment complex parking lot in Arvada and a suspect has been arrested, police said.
The shooting happened at about 8:20 a.m. Thursday at the Palmetto Club Apartments, West 80th Avenue and Ames Way, said Dave Snelling, a police spokesman.
When officers arrived they found the victim, a man, who had been shot in the chest, Snelling said. He was taken to a local hospital.
The suspect, who was known to the victim, fled the scene. Identified as Jesse Cordova, 41, the suspect was arrested at about 11 a.m., by deputies with the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office, in the area of West Coal Mine Avenue and Robincrest Lane.
Cordova was taken into custody without incident and is being held on investigation of attempted murder, police said. The victim was described as being in “stable condition.”
