A 17-year-old juvenile was charged Monday with first-degree murder in the Aug. 8 fatal shooting of a man near Beeler Street and Colfax Avenue in Aurora.
Donovan Yates faces a misdemeanor charge of possession of a handgun by a juvenile in addition to the murder charge. The Adams County District Attorney’s Office said the victim was 28 years old but has not identified him by name.
No further details about the shooting were provided on Monday.
Yates’ next court appearance will be Dec. 9.
