1. Cherry Creek (7-1) won vs. Eaglecrest, 42-7: The Bruins got off to a flying start with three scores. Quarterback Brady Vodicka had a 27-yard scamper just before the half and threw for another score to start the third quarter as Creek piled it on late. Next week: at Arapahoe, 7 p.m. Friday
2. Valor Christian (6-2) won at No. 9 Rock Canyon, 28-13: The Eagles extended their win streak in league play to 36 games as Gabe Sawchuk, Trey Stott and Asher Weiner all running for touchdowns. Next week: at No. 6 ThunderRidge, 7 p.m. Oct. 21
3. Ralston Valley (6-2) won vs. Pomona, 48-7: The Mustangs remained undefeated in Jeffco League play as they took down the Panthers in straightforward fashion. On the opening drive, quarterback Logan Madden found receiver Josh Rillos to set up the opening score and RV didn’t look back after that. Next week: vs. Chatfield, 4 p.m. Oct. 21
4. Columbine (7-1) won at Arvada West, 60-14: Josh Snyder (four carries, 149 yards) and Marquane Taylor (11-112) each topped 100 yards rushing, Brayden Harvey threw three TD passes, and Spencer Houle hauled in a pair of scoring throws as the Rebels totaled 535 yards in a rout. Next week: at Lakewood, 6 p.m. Oct. 20
5. Regis Jesuit (5-3) won at Chaparral, 56-28: Adin Chase, Cole Brandsma and Exander Carroll all ran in touchdowns, and Carroll threw TD passes to three different receivers (Dylan McCollough, Andrew Metzger and D’Andre Barnes) to give the Raiders a 42-7 lead that was never challenged. 6. ThunderRidge (8-0) won vs. Highlands Ranch, 35-7:The Grizzlies forced a pair of turnovers and on the other side of the ball, quarterback Cooper Kier rushed for a score and threw for another to remain undefeated. Next week: vs. No. 2 Valor Christian, 7 p.m. Oct. 21
7. Grandview (6-2) won vs. Smoky Hill, 42-20: Xay Neto opened the game with a 95-yard kickoff return to give the Wolves the early lead. Later in the first quarter, quarterback Liam Szarka broke loose for a 48-yard score of his own as the Wolves went on to bounce back from a Week 7 defeat. Next week: vs. Cherokee Trail, 7 p.m. Oct. 21
8. Pine Creek (6-2) won vs. Legend, 31-14:Last year, Legend outlasted the Eagles in Parker. Not this year, though, as the Eagles scored all 31 points in the second half and Jonathan Cooper threw for a 25-yard score and rushed for another. Next week: at Douglas County, 6 p.m. Oct. 20
9. Rock Canyon (6-2) lost vs. No. 2 Valor Christian, 28-13: The Jaguars were dealt their second straight loss after Valor jumped ahead 21-0 and kept them at arm’s length the rest of the way. Next week: at Castle View, 6 p.m. Oct. 21
10. Legacy (6-2) won at Mullen 40-0: Legacy continued its hot-streak as the Lightning rattled off a sixth consecutive win for the first time since 2015. Next week: vs. Horizon, 7 p.m. Oct. 21
Class 4A
1. Palmer Ridge (8-0) won vs. Air Academy, 56-0:The Bears put up 21 points in each of their first two quarters to take a 42-0 lead at halftime and went on to blank the Kadets. In the six-score first half, they had four rushing touchdowns from four different backs, all of which came from inside the 10-yard line. Next week: at Cheyenne Mountain, 7 p.m. Oct. 21
2. Broomfield (8-0) won vs. Adams City, 56-0: In another first-half runaway, the Eagles put up 42 points and kept up their undefeated start to the 2022 campaign. It was the second straight week with a shutout. Next week: vs. No. 7 Fruita Monument, 7 p.m. Oct. 21
3. Loveland (7-1) won vs. Skyline, 57-0: Drew Foley found the end zone twice, Garrett Harstad had one TD rushing and another through the air, and the Red Wolves defense shut out the opposition for the second week in a row. Next week: at Windsor, 7 p.m. Oct. 20
4. Montrose (6-2) won at Coronado, 61-6: The Red Hawks put up a season-high point total en route to their sixth straight win. Next week: at No. 9 Mesa Ridge, 6 p.m. Oct. 20
5. Denver South (7-1) won vs. Vista Peak Prep, 45-14: Joseph Capra threw for 235 yards and five TDs on 10-of-16 passing, with Rashad Caldwell snagging five of those completions for 119 yards and three TDs. Next week: at Far Northeast, 1 p.m. Oct. 22
6. Ponderosa (6-2) won vs. Far Northeast 55-27: A second-half shootout went to the Mustangs as the teams entered halftime tied at 20 apiece. Ponderosa went on to outscore the Warriors 35-7 to secure the win. Next week: at Thomas Jefferson, 7 p.m. Oct. 21
7. Fruita Monument (6-2) won vs. Aurora Central, 41-14: Wyatt Sharpe ran in three TDs, Corben Rowell threw for two more scores and the Wildcats defense did enough to limit the damage from explosive Trojans RB Cai’Reis Curby (two rush TDs) in their second straight double-digit win. Next week: at No. 2 Broomfield, 7 p.m. Oct. 21
8. Vista Ridge (6-2) won vs. Cheyenne Mountain, 59-7: The Wolves remained undefeated in 4A League 3 action with a dominant win on the road. It was Vista Ridge’s fifth straight win and the team has scored at least 45 points in each of those victories. Next week: at Rampart, 7 p.m. Oct. 21
9. Mesa Ridge (6-2) won vs. Rampart, 56-14: After it was tied at 14-all midway through the second quarter, Mesa Ridge dominated the last stretch of the half and the remainder of the game for a fifth successive victory. Next week: vs. No. 4 Montrose, 6 p.m. Oct. 20
10. Heritage (6-2) won vs. Standley Lake, 21-3: Zyriq Siegler rushed for touchdowns of 38 yards and 20 yards as Heritage pulled away from the Gators late. Next week: at Aurora Central, 6:30 p.m. Oct. 21
