For more than four months, running back Dylan Edwards was committed to play college football at Notre Dame.

Then, Deion Sanders came to Boulder and Edwards had a change of heart.

On Saturday, two days after decommitting from Notre Dame, Edwards was in Boulder for an official visit and gave his verbal commitment to the Buffs and Sanders, their new head coach.

Rated a four-star recruit, Edwards ranks as the No. 12 running back recruit by 247Sports.com in the 2023 class. The Derby (Kan.) High School star has 36 scholarship offers, according to 247Sports, including from 23 Power Five conference schools.

The Kansas Gatorade player of the year, Edwards rushed for 2,603 yards and 36 touchdowns this year as a senior. He had 4,436 yards and 61 touchdowns in the last two seasons.

Edwards originally committed to Kansas State in June before getting an offer from Notre Dame in late July.

Later on Saturday, CU got a second verbal commitment, from Asaad Waseem, a receiver from Ocoee (Fla.) High School who is also on a visit to Boulder this weekend.

Rated a three-star recruit by 247Sports, Waseem has 19 scholarship offers, including 12 from Power Five schools.

As a senior, Waseem caught 82 passes for 1,481 yards and 20 touchdowns.
