Some lingering effects from the winter storm that closed most of northeast Colorado and dropped over 12 inches of snow in some mountain areas are expected Thursday as the storm leaves the state.

The mountains will see a slight uptick in snow showers in the late morning, with one to three inches of snowfall expected, and below-average temperatures are expected across the state from the snow cover.

will also make many areas feel colder as well. In Denver, the high Thursday is 33 degrees, and winds could gust as high as 15 mph. There will be a small chance of snow Thursday night in Denver as the temperature drops to 13 degrees.

The northeast plains are expected to get more high winds and gusts up to 50 mph and the mountains up to 45 mph. Blowing snow is still a possibility in these areas, but fresher snow in the mountains adds to that likelihood.

Below-average temperatures in the mountains and plains are also expected, as Thursday night will get frigid with single digits on the plains and around -10 degrees in the mountains. Wind chills could drop temperatures by almost 20 degrees.
