Interstate 76 is closed in both directions between Sterling and the Nebraska state line due to multiple crashes and adverse weather conditions, according to the Colorado Department of Transportation.
CDOT announced that eastbound lanes were closed about 4:30 p.m. on Twitter. The decision to close westbound lanes was announced just before 5 p.m.

Windy weather continues on the northeastern plains, with blowing snow reducing visibility, according to the National Weather Service. The wind chill has the temperature down to 1 degree.
