From the ending of one spectacle in Sunday’s conclusion of the 2022 FIFA World Cup, to the beginning of another, as Major League Soccer announced its 2023 regular-season schedule on Tuesday.

Colorado will open the season on the road against Western Conference foe Seattle on Sunday, Feb. 26. The game will air on Fox Sports 1. Colorado’s home opener will be Saturday, March 4 against Sporting Kansas City at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park with a 7:30 p.m. start.

As part of an agreement with Apple TV, most games will be played Wednesdays and Saturdays, with most matches starting at 7:30 p.m. local time. The league did this in order to fit in a five-hour whip-around show, capturing the start of Eastern Conference games to the final whistle of Western Conference games.

The Rapids will play another 34-game schedule — 17 home and 17 away. Decision Day, the final day of the regular season, will take place Oct. 21 as Colorado will host Real Salt Lake — which will be the third meeting of the season to decide the Rocky Mountain Cup (May 20th at DSGP and Sept. 2 in Salt Lake will be the other two editions).

There will be a month-long break in regular-season action from July 15 – Aug. 19 for the revamped Leagues Cup, which will pit Mexico’s Liga MX teams against MLS in a 47-team tournament, in addition to the 2023 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup.

In order to watch every regular-season game, MLS announced “MLS Season Pass” which will be available in the Apple TV app starting Feb. 1 for $14.99 per month, or $99 per season.

In order to facilitate the move to Apple, the league instructed all local TV deals — including Altitude TV to end at the end of the 2022 season. Altitude Sports Radio will still be the radio provider, and fans will be able to listen to local radio broadcasts on Apple TV as well.
