Road closures hit Colorado highways as cold front begins ahead of holiday weekend

Portions of I-25, U.S. 85 closed in both directions near Wyoming

Freezing temperatures and snow accompanying a cold front hitting the Colorado has caused several road closures near the Wyoming border.

is closed in both directions between County Road 80 near Ault and the Wyoming border, as of 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Safety concerns, including adverse driving conditions and low-to-no visibility, are cited by the Colorado Department of Transportation as the reason.

is also closed between Colorado 14 and the Wyoming border due to safety concerns, as of 5:30 p.m. The department warns to expect delays.

is closed in both directions between Colorado 1 and the Wyoming border due to adverse conditions — specifically from Wellington Exit 278 to the state line.

is closed in both directions between U.S. 138 and the Nebraska border due to safety concerns, with delays expected, as of 6:17 p.m.

is closed in both directions between N. 10th Avenue near Sterling and County Road 33 near Ault because of safety concerns, as of 6:17 p.m.
