Jerry Jeudy has blossomed into Denver’s best wide receiver this year, but Thursday he took on an offensive lineman-like role: Protect the quarterback.

Jeudy took issue on social media with the latest round of punditry regarding Russell Wilson and talk of his office at the Broncos’ practice facility and a contention that he has his own designated parking spot. Jeudy on Twitter blasted the narrative of special treatment for Wilson and then at his locker explained why.

“I’m tired of reading stuff about my boy that makes it seem like, oh, he’s a bad teammate and other stuff thatap not true,” he said. “I just wanted to get it out. He is a good teammate and he’s a hard-working teammate and I just felt like I needed to get that out there because there’s a lot of false narratives going on around here that I’m getting tired of seeing.”

Jeudy said the way Wilson has handled the worst season of his career has only elevated his level of respect for the veteran quarterback.

“He’s meant a lot. Being around Russ, he’s a guy that just keeps me motivated,” Jeudy said. “Just the way he goes about his business, the way he carries himself, the way he does things around here, it just shows the true leader and the true pro he is. Having a guy like that, you see how to really be a pro. …

“Knowing all the hard work he put in during the offseason and during camp and all that, sometimes you ain’t going have the success you want. With him, knowing he’s not having his best season, he’s working the same way as if he is having his best season. Thatap what I respect most about him.”

Jeudy leads the Broncos this season with 55 catches for 780 yards and six touchdowns and had a season-best 117 yards on seven catches Sunday against the Rams.

Snow globe. The Broncos’ practice fields at the UC Heath Training Center looked particularly good Thursday, a swath of manicured green flanked by hefty snow banks.

Denver interim head coach Jerry Rosburg deadpanned, “I found it quite interesting that it didn’t snow on the practice field,” before thanking the grounds crew for their work.

Rosburg said the Broncos had everybody present and accounted for on time in the morning despite the snowfall, though he needed “rescuing” from the hotel he’s been staying in.

Rosburg said practiced in full pads Thursday.

“I like football practice and we’re going to have pads on today,” he said. “Itap important to me that I see these guys in pads. I haven’t been doing that in my previous position in the organization, so I need to see this.”

Broncos sign RB. Denver on Thursday signed running back Tyler Badie to its active roster. The former Missouri standout had been on Baltimore’s practice squad but now will be on the Broncos’ 53-man roster for the final two games of the season.

Denver had an open roster spot and now has four running backs: Badie, Latavius Murray, Marlon Mack and Chase Edmonds.
