Southbound I-25 north of Denver reopens after crash involving up to 25 vehicles

The highway lanes were closed from around noon to 3:38 p.m.

The southbound lanes of Interstate 25 between Johnstown and Colo. 60 north of the metro area have been reopened after a crash involving up to 25 vehicles.

The Colorado Department of Transportation announced the closure shortly after noon Thursday. A CDOT shows a long line of cars and trucks backed up on the highway. The department announced the roadway had reopened at 3:38 p.m.

Master Trooper Gary Cutler, with the Colorado State Patrol, said said that up to 25 vehicles were involved in the mass collision. He said two motorists were transported to a medical facility with minor injuries.
