A driver struck and killed a pedestrian Saturday night in Denver, according to police.

The crash happened at West Third Avenue and Federal Boulevard around 10:50 p.m., police said. The pedestrian, a woman, was in the street when she was struck, Denver police spokesman Sean Towle said Sunday.

The driver stayed at the scene and investigators have spoken to both the driver and a witness, Towle said. The woman who died has not been publicly identified.

The investigation into what caused the crash is ongoing, he said. No charges had been filed by Sunday morning.
