Driver dies, passenger survives fatal Corvette rollover crash that forced closure of northbound I-225

A 21-year-old man from Parker is dead after the 1995 Chevrolet Corvette he was driving before dawn Monday crashed and rolled, forcing the closure of northbound Interstate 225 in Aurora, according to police.

A woman riding in the car survived the crash and was taken to a hospital.

“Speed is believed to be a factor in the crash,” the said in a .

Aurora police investigators closed the northbound lanes of I-225, then re-opened the highway before sunrise. The crash happened near the intersection of I-225 and 6th Avenue, the police said. The car veered off the left side of the road and rolled over, they said. Previous reports indicated the crash was near Alameda Avenue.
