Power has been restored along the Regional Transportation District’s R Line after an outage lasting more than three hours led to the deployment of shuttle buses to re-route commuters Friday morning as rain buffets Colorado’s Front Range.
Separately, a mechanical problem that forced delays of up to 15 minutes for N Line rail commuters over more than two hours was resolved around 10:35 a.m.

RTD officials reported the shuttle diversions at 6:11 a.m. and the end of the outage at 10:12 a.m. using postings on Twitter. R Line trains were resuming their normal scheduled routes to all stations, officials said.
Lacking sufficient shuttles, RTD was able only to re-route passengers between the Florida and Aurora Metro stations. At Aurora Metro, bus routes connect, allowing diverted rail riders to travel to other stations with the 15L running to Colfax Station and the 130/133 running to the Nine Mile Station. Bus shuttles later were recalled.”RTD does not know the cause of the outage,” agency spokesman Austin Nettleton said.
“As far as buses go, there aren’t any delays associated with the flooding,” Nettleton added, advising commuters nevertheless to check for “service alerts” at the agency’s online site, .
An Xcel Energy power outage online listed 24 outages around Colorado (17 in metro Denver) Friday morning, affecting 1,138 customers.
