The Broncos and Los Angeles Rams are going to get quite familiar each other as the NFL preseason winds down.

Sean Payton’s Denver team is set to host coach Sean McVay and the Rams on Aug. 23-24 for joint practices before they play in the preseason finale Aug. 26, according to an NFL release.

The Wednesday and Thursday practice sessions are a week after Denver’s final listed open training camp practice, so itap unclear whether fans will be able to see any of the joint practice action.
The joint practice model has become increasingly popular in the NFL. According to the league, 27 teams are participating in joint practices this year and 13 teams – the Rams included – are taking part in multiple.

The Broncos and Rams will link up at the start of what will be a busy closing stretch to the preseason.

After the practices and preseason games, the league’s new-look roster cutdown day arrives on Aug. 29. Previously, teams had to cut their roster from 90 down toward 53 players in stages over the course of the preseason. This year, there’s only one big cutdown day, meaning teams can hang on to up to 90 players until the Tuesday following the final preseason weekend.

Denver’s rookies report to training camp Wednesday and the veterans report July 25. The first practice day open to fans is July 28 and then the Broncos open preseason play Aug. 11 at Arizona.
