Teen employee shot at Santiago’s in Commerce City

The teen and a man got into an argument and exchanged gunfire, police said

Commerce City police are investigating a shooting at Santiago’s Mexican Restaurant.

A teenage employee of the restaurant, near the intersection of 72nd Street and U.S. 85, is in the hospital with critical injuries, police said.

At 4:07 p.m. Thursday. police were called to the restaurant for a report of an “active shooter.”

When officers arrived they determined that the teen employee and an adult customer had gotten into an argument and gunfire was exchanged, police said.

The customer drove off from the restaurant, pulled over, and called 911. He then left the area on foot. Police know who he is and are looking for him.
