An Arapahoe County jury in October convicted a man of first-degree murder and two counts of attempted first-degree murder, all three with extreme indifference, in a 2022 shooting outside an Aurora sports bar that killed a man, according to online court records.
Henry Lee Griffin III, 28, was convicted Oct. 18 of murdering Joshua Lamont Robinson, 28, in a shooting outside Challengers Sports Bar, court records show. Griffin was 26 at the time of the shooting.
Griffin was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole on Thursday.
Police responded to the shooting at 1:52 a.m. on Aug. 14, 2022, in the parking lot of the sports bar at 12161 E. Iliff Ave. and determined that a fight preceded the shooting and that the two people involved had left the scene.
About 10 minutes after the initial call, Robinson, suffering from a serious gunshot wound, arrived at a local hospital, police said at the time. He died a couple of days later on Aug. 16, 2022.
Griffin pleaded not guilty to the murder and attempted murder charges in January.
