An armed man “violently assaulted” a woman before forcing her into his vehicle in Aurora Friday night, and Aurora police believe the man kidnapped the woman.
Police are asking anyone with information to contact them as they search for the man and woman.
Officers responded to reports of an assault about 10:30 p.m. near Shawnee Street and East 42nd Avenue just east of Denver’s Green Valley Ranch neighborhood, according to a police department .
Officers are investigating an assault and believed kidnapping and we are asking for the public’s help.

Everyone was gone when police arrived, according to the police department, but witnesses told officers a heavyset bald Black man — who was about 6 foot 3 inches and wearing a white shirt and gray sweatpants — was armed with a gun and assaulted a Black woman in her 30s with curly shoulder-length hair and wearing a black dress.
The man then forced the woman into a newer, light gray Dodge Charger with a red rental Colorado license plate and fled the scene.
