A 25-year-old man was charged with first-degree murder, tampering with a deceased human body and abuse of a corpse in connection with the death of a 31-year-old man in unincorporated Adams County on Friday.
Jose Valdez-Canas was arrested Sunday and is in custody on a $5 million cash bail, according to court records.
Adams County Sheriff’s deputies went to a residence in the 6900 block of Ruth Way in the Twin Lakes community of Adams County after being called about 4:30 a.m. for a welfare check, .
The sheriff’s office announced later Friday afternoon on X that the homicide appears to have at the residence. The man who was killed has not been identified.
