Broomfield police shot and killed a person after responding to a domestic incident Wednesday night.

Officers responded to the incident about 8:40 p.m. at the Village Square Apartments in the 700 block of Burank Street, .

The shooting happened sometime after that in the 600 block of Alter Street, according to the department.

The suspect was taken to a hospital, and police later reported they had died. Police did not give any identifying details about the person.

The 17th Judicial District Critical Incident Response Team is investigating, and the police officer involved in the shooting is on administrative leave.
