Several lanes on Peoria Street and one lane on East Colfax Avenue are reopened following a massive apartment construction fire near the Aurora intersection in December,
All northbound lanes and one southbound lane of Peoria Street are reopened and one westbound lane on East Colfax is reopened, according to the city.
“Any lanes that remain closed are due to safety concerns, but the reopening of lanes will continue incrementally as demolition progresses,” city officials wrote in a Facebook post Friday.
The fire was the largest in Aurora Fire Rescue’s history, taking five days and more than 50 apparatuses to fully extinguish. The fire caused an estimated loss of $150 million, city officials reported.
