South Metro Fire Crews responded to two restaurants in a Greenwood Village shopping center that caught fire Friday morning.

Firefighters responded to the scene of a structure fire at Fuji Hibachi and Sushi in The Shops at Greenwood Village around 4 a.m. Friday, .

When they arrived on scene, crews could see smoke coming from the building but no injuries were reported.

Less than an hour later, while firefighters were still working to extinguish the first fire, a second fire sparked in the shopping center.

Firefighters were working to control the fire inside Sportsbook Bar and Grill — just four doors down from Fuji Hibachi and Sushi — around 5 a.m. Friday, .

Crews on-scene escalated the fire to a second-alarm fire, calling in other firefighters for backup.

As of 5:18 a.m., the fires in both businesses were under control, but fire crews remained on scene to check for hot spots and ventilating smoke, according to South Metro’s post.

Information about what caused the fire and how badly the restaurants were damaged was not available, but investigators from both South Metro Fire Rescue and the Greenwood Village Police Department are at the scene.
