Loveland Valentine’s Day postmark

Make your Valentine’s Day cards lovelier with a special postmark. For the 78th year, the Sweetheart City of Loveland is currently accepting cards and love letters for its popular Valentine’s Day re-mailing program. Send your stamped cards in a larger envelope to: Postmaster – Attention Valentines, 446 E. 29th St., Loveland, CO 80538-9998. You must have proper postage on your cards and letters, as well as the larger, outer envelope. (Weigh your package to ensure you have enough.) The deadline for U.S. destinations is Feb. 5. For within Colorado, it’s Feb. 7. (The international deadline has already passed.) If you live or work nearby Loveland, you can also drop off your cards at the Loveland Chamber of Commerce. loveland.org/programs/valentine-re-mailing-program

Froyo fans can chill out on National Frozen Yogurt Day by spooning their favorite treat for free. Three frozen yogurt shops are offering a sweet deal on Feb. 6. At Menchie’s Frozen Yogurt and Yogurtland, enjoy a buy-one-get-one-free cup of frozen yogurt with toppings. Menchie’s has nine shops in Colorado (Arvada, Aurora, Colorado Springs, Denver, Lafayette, Loveland and three in Westminster). Yogurtland has four shops: Arvada, Centennial, Denver and Littleton. TCBY is also serving complimentary frozen yogurt and toppings. The first 6 ounces that customers swirl in their cups are free. If you get more, just pay for the additional ounces. TCBY has three locations, in Thornton, Fort Collins and Greeley. Valentine’s Bazaar

Cupids are always on the lookout for the perfect gift for their sweethearts. This year’s pop-up Valentine’s Bazaar is being held at two locations: Aspen Grove (7301 S. Santa Fe Drive) in Littleton and Belmar Plaza (439 S. Upham St.) in Lakewood. Shop more than 50 curated vendors offering a wide range of giftable goods, including jewelry, confections, art, fashion and more. The event is from 4 to 8 p.m. on Feb. 9 and 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 10. There is also a Shop & Sip Drink Experience with bottomless mimosas from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday. Colorado Lunar New Year Celebration

The area’s largest celebration of the Lunar New Year is on Feb. 10 at George Washington High School (655 S. Monaco Parkway) in Denver. From 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., admission to the Cultural Fair, Taste of China and Marketplace is free. Visitors can enjoy a variety of Chinese and Asian Pacific booths, including cultural exhibits, artwork, crafts, food stands and more. There will also be kids’ activities and demos. The highlight of the festival is a two-hour cultural and entertainment show by national and international artists in the afternoon from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. Tickets for the Celebration Show are $25. denverchineseschool.org

Michaels Kids Club

Michaels just introduced Kids Club, a new family-friendly crafting event. The arts and crafts store will host kids-oriented projects on select Saturdays from 10 a.m. to noon each month. Best of all, it is free and all supplies are included. Participants must register for the class online. The first two workshops are scheduled for Feb. 10 (painted rocks) and Feb. 24 (abstract painting). Michaels also hosts Sunday Make Break on select Sundays from 2 to 4 p.m. michaels.com/classes

Loveland Lights & Sweetheart Festival

Loveland always lights up for February. Sweethearts, couples and families can take a stroll through a winter wonderland to celebrate Valentine’s Day. Through Feb. 18, Loveland Lights illuminates Chapungu Sculpture Park at Centerra from 5 to 9 p.m. Visitors walk through a love-themed light display set to popular love songs, all against illuminated African stone sculptures. This year, enjoy Loveland Lights LIVE on Feb. 17 with special programming, including dueling pianos, beer, wine and more. Loveland is also home to the Sweetheart Festival on Feb. 10. See ice sculptors at work, live flame dancers, local performances, neon selfie walls, food trucks and kids’ activities at the Foundry Community Plaza. Denver FamilyFest

On Feb. 24 at the Colorado Convention Center, Denver FamilyFest will offer kids everything from temporary tattoos and coloring books to carnival games and face painting. Plus, there’s live entertainment, stage presentations and giveaways. While the kids are playing, parents will find a huge variety of family-oriented products and services. Best of all, kids get in for free and there is no limit on the number of children in tow, as long as there is one adult in the party. Arvada WinterFest

Arvada’s WinterFest, a free outdoor multi-cultural celebration, will be held on Feb. 24 at McIlvoy Park (58th Ave. & Upham St.) from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. The family-friendly event highlights the variety of cultures in the community, allowing visitors to learn, sample and enjoy diverse arts, culture and entertainment. Plus, eat your way around the world with food vendors serving lots of global treats.
