A man was found dead in a parking lot early Thursday morning by Adams County sheriff’s deputies who were investigating a stabbing at a nearby apartment in Twin Lakes.

Deputies responded to an apartment at 7220 Zuni St. at 3:30 a.m. and found a wounded man who said he had been stabbed, according to spokesperson Adam Sherman. The man was taken to a hospital for treatment, and deputies and detectives for witnesses, evidence and the suspect when they found a man’s body in the parking lot of an adjacent business.

“All indications are the deceased male was involved with the initial disturbance,” Sherman said in a statement.

Investigative teams are still conducting interviews and seeking more information, Sherman said. The sheriff’s office does not believe there’s a threat to the public in the case.

This is a developing story.
