A man was killed and a boy was injured in a double shooting near Kipling Street and West Colfax Avenue on Tuesday, according to the Lakewood Police Department.

Police later announced that a man, as 24-year-old Francisco Martinez from Edgewater, had died and a 17-year-old boy was hospitalized. Police did not release further information about the boy’s identity or injuries.
The double shooting was one of five similar incidents in the Denver metro in the previous 24 hours.

Aurora Police Department reported a shooting in the 1400 block of Clinton Street in a . The victim, an adult male, took himself to the hospital. He has serious injuries but is expected to survive. Police believe the suspect and victim know each other, but no arrests have been made.
