A 55-year-old Douglas County High School social studies teacher was arrested Tuesday on suspicion of sexual assault on a child by someone in a position of trust.
James Thomure, a Centennial resident, is in custody at the Douglas County Detention Facility on $20,000 bail, the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office said in .
Sheriff’s officials did not provide details of the allegations against Thomure.

Thomure began working in Douglas County School District in 1999 and is on administrative leave “pending investigation,” Kappas wrote.
“I know it is concerning to receive news of this nature,” Kappas wrote. “Please know the safety and well-being of every student is of primary importance to and the Douglas County School District.”
