Northbound E-470 in Aurora was reopened Monday morning following a semitrailer fire that sent smoke across the roadway, which led authorities to divert traffic onto Interstate 70 for a period of time.
Aurora Fire Rescue and Sable Altura Fire Rescue responded to the burning truck, which was carrying a load of acai berries, at East 26th Avenue and E-470 around 5 a.m.
Firefighters prevented the flames from reaching the E-470 bridge, .
Crews contained the fire and were able to prevent diesel fuel from reaching any waterways, according to Aurroa Fire Rescue.
No injuries were reported.
Earlier today, at around 5 am, and responded to a report of a semi-truck on fire near E 26th Avenue and E470.
