Eastbound Interstate 70 reopens near Golden after crash involving motorcycle

The roadway was closed between Morrison Road and U.S. 6 in Golden for about 4 hours

Eastbound Interstate 70 reopened Wednesday morning near Golden after a motorcycle crash caused a four-hour closure, according to the Colorado Department of Transportation.

The interstate closed between Exit 259 for Morrison Road — about a mile west of Golden — and Exit 261 for U.S. 6 around 6:30 a.m., . I-70 reopened to traffic around 10:40 a.m.

The crash was initially reported as a motorcycle crash with a fire, police said.

No additional information about the crash or whether the motorcyclist was injured was available Wednesday morning.
