
Two people were injured Wednesday morning when an airplane crashed at Douglas County’s Meridian Golf Club, according to South Metro Fire Rescue.
Fire crews and Douglas County sheriff’s deputies responded to the aircraft emergency near the seventh hole of the golf course at 9:44 a.m. Wednesday, . Initial reports stated the aircraft crashed and flipped upside down.
The small Cessna plane — which had just taken off from Centennial Airport — was carrying two people, fire officials .
Both people were able to get out of the plane on their own and walked away with minor injuries, .
A posted by South Metro shows the Cessna upside down on the golf course with damage to the wings and nose. The reads “ATP” — a national flight school with Colorado training centers in Denver, Boulder and Colorado Springs.
No flames were spotted coming out of the aircraft, and crews are on-scene to assess the damage, fire officials said.
The Federal Aviation Administration and the National Transportation Safety Board will investigate the crash.
