Authorities on Monday evening captured an inmate who escaped from a Colorado Department of Corrections center in Cañon City, state officials said.

Leaf Glimpse — a 34-year-old man serving an eight-year burglary sentence — escaped from the Arrowhead Correctional Center in the East Cañon Complex, state officials said.

State officials didn’t say when Glimpse managed to escape the complex, but said the Cañon City Search Team was immediately activated and law enforcement was notified when guards noticed the escape. The Office of the Inspector General was investigating the escape.

Glimpse is a 5-foot-4-inch, 185-pound white man with brown hair and blue eyes, state officials said in the release.
