Teenager killed in shooting at Denver park, police searching for suspects

Denver police are searching for suspects after a 17-year-old boy was shot and killed Sunday in Lisbon Park.

Around 6:30 p.m. Sunday, Edwin Sanchez and a friend were hanging out at the park in Denver’s Green Valley Ranch neighborhood when an unknown person approached and shot the teenager, . Sanchez later died from his injuries, and no suspects have been identified.

The other teenager was not injured, police said.

Lisbon Park, at 4000 Kirk Street, is near the Denver-Aurora boundary, a softball field, tennis courts and Green Valley Elementary School.
