A Boulder elementary school was on secure status Tuesday as deputies investigated reports of shots fired in the area, sheriff’s officials said.

Sheriff’s officials said the school was put on secure status while deputies investigated and all of the students are safe.
When a school is on secure status, all doors are locked and no one may enter or leave the building, according to school district officials. Students involved in outside activities are brought indoors but classes continue as normal.
